Shane McMahon

Wrestling Biography
Shane McMahon was born in January 1970 to WWE superstar (and owner) Vince McMahon and his wife, Linda McMahon. He is the older brother of Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and brother-in-law to Triple H, Stephanie’s husband. In addition to appearing in the ring as a wrestler and being involved in various storylines, Shane is also the Executive Vice President of WWE Global Marketing. In the ring, he has held the Hardcore and European titles.
Shane graduated from Boston University with a degree in media and marketing. In 1990, he first appeared in the ring as a referee while using the name Shane Stevens. He later moved to backstage official. After eight years of this, he became a regular character in 1998. He supported his father while Vince battled with Steve Austin, and he also did some commentary. He also joined the stable the Corporation and began wrestling, winning the European title.
Shane turned against his father for a bit, but the two reconciled and continued to appear in storylines together for several years. However, when his sister Stephanie and her on-screen husband Triple H turned against the other McMahons, Shane vanished from the WWE for a while. He returned at No Way Out, and eventually he supported the Big Show at WrestleMania 2000. However, Big Show was eliminated quickly. Following several other events that year, Shane once again left the show.
In 2001, he reappeared and feuded with Vince again. He feuded with Kurt Angle, took over the WCW, and eventually formed the Alliance with the ECW (owned by his sister Stephanie). However, the WWE defeated the Alliance, and Shane was “fired.” He once again returned to the WWE in 2003, battling with Kane and making several WrestleMania appearances.
In 2006, Shane became a heel again, and he and his father began feuding with Shawn Michaels. However, Shane was injured by Triple H, leading to a new Shane/Triple H feud. He was injured yet again in a Hell in a Cell match, and he once again disappeared from the major WWE storylines.
Shane once again reappeared in 2008 on RAW. He temporarily served as interim RAW manager and appeared in a match in No Way Out. He, Vince, and Triple H would feud with The Legacy for the rest of the year.
