Wrestling Biography

WWE superstar Mr. Kennedy does a bit of acting as well as professional wrestling.  However, he is best known for his wrestling on WWE’s Smackdown.  Prior to working in these two fields, Kennedy was a security officer, a personal trainer, and served in the military.

Kennedy first wrestled for All-Star Championship Wrestling, and he quickly grabbed the attention of managers for WWE Sunday Night Heat, Velocity, and Jakked.  Starting in 2001, he made appearances as a jobber on all of those shows as well as TNA Wrestling.  In 2005, he was offered a contract by WWE.

Kennedy trained with Ohio Valley Wrestling for six months before appearing on Velocity.  He took the name Mr. Kennedy as homage to WWE chief Vince Kennedy McMahon.  He then moved to Smackdown, defeating Funaki in his first match in August of 2005.  He would almost immediately join WWE’s overseas tour in December of 2005.  However, he was injured while on tour and unable to wrestle for six months.  To keep up his visibility, Smackdown had him do commentary while he recovered.

In May, Kennedy returned to wrestling for Ohio Valley, and he returned to Smackdown in June.  However, he was soon injured again.  This injury was not as severe, and in September, Kennedy claimed the WWE United States title.  He would lose the title to Chris Benoit in October.  He then joned forces with MVP in a feud with the Undertaker and Kane in which the team of Kennedy and MVP lost three times to the Brothers of Destruction.

June of 2007 saw Kennedy move from Smackdown to Raw.  There, he defeated a number of opponents and feuded with many other WWE superstars.  He would turn face on Raw after beginning a rivalry with Raw’s general manager William Regal.

In June of 2008, Kennedy was traded back to Smackdown.  However, his return was once again cut short due to a dislocated shoulder. Kennedy was out for a few months but during that time, he was drafted back to RAW. Returning to much fanfare in May 2009, Kennedy was booked in a 10 man tag team match in his first night back. Kennedy was released from his contract four days after his return from injury.
