Wrestling Biography

The WWE superstar most people know as Shad was born on January 13, 1981, and his full name is Shad Chad Javier Jesus Roman Chittick Gaspard.  He currently appears on WWE Smackdown with his tag team partner JTG.  The two make up the tag team called Cryme Tyme.

Shad began boxing at a young age, and he later trained in kickboxing, wrestling, and mixed martial arts.  By sixteen, he was regularly competing against opponents in their early 30s, and he often defeated them.  Before joining the WWE, Shad also worked as a bodyguard for actors and rappers.

In 2003, Shad was approached by a WWE talent scout, and began his time at Ohio Valley Wrestling.  He first used the name Da Beast while wrestling at OVW.  Shad soon joined up with Carlos Colon in a tag team, and when Colon left OVW in 2004, Shad went through a number of tag partners.  When he couldn’t find a partner who seemed to fit, he decided to wrestle solo under his own name.

In June of 2005, Shad was given a full developmental contract and made a tag team with JTG as the Neighborhoodie. The two won the OVW Southern Tag titles before being moved to Raw in 2006.  There, they became known as Cryme Tyme, and they made their debut in October of 2006.  They defeated a number of opponents right away, including winning the New Year’s Revolution Tag Team Turmoil Match.  In addition to their in-ring wins, the two began using their gimmick of stealing other wrestler’s things and selling or giving them away.

In September of 2007, Shad and JTG were both dropped from the WWE.  Shad returned to the independent circuit for several months until, in March of 2008, the WWE decided to re-hire them.  Cryme Tyme reappeared on Raw and formed an alliance with John Cena, creating the Cryme Tyme Cenasation. They were up for Tag Team title shot against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. but were unsucessful in their attempt to the titles. They have been working toward getting the tag titles on Smackdown but so far have come up short in their attempts.
