Eric Escobar, born as Eric Perez, was born December 18, 1979 and is currently on Smackdown. He began his career in his home of Puerto Rico in the International Wrestling Association after being trained by Super Crazy. After a few failed angles and a time conflict, he left the IWA and went to the World Wrestling Council where he won numerous titles.

In 2005, he receieved a developmental contract with the WWE and began working in Deep South Wrestling under the name of "The Puerto Rican Nightmare". He won the DSW Tag Team titles with former TNA star Sonny Siaki and wrestled at a few ECW house shows during the summer of 2007. After Deep South closed up, he was sent to Florida Championship Wrestling but was out of action to recover from back surgery. He returned to become the number one contender to the FCW Southern Heavyweight Championship but was not able to win the title. He teamed with Eddie Colon (Primo) and formed "The Puerto Rican Nightmares" and they won the FCW Florida Tag Team Champions on three seperate occasions.

In December 2008, Perez won the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal Four Way match. He later changed his name to Eric Escobar and performed on numerous dark matches. He lost the title to Joe Hennig and made his debut on Smackdown soon after in Semptember 2009. He debuted as the new boyfriend of Vickie Guerrero. In his debut match, he defeated Matt Hardy . The storyline relationship with Guerrero ended when he lost a shot at the Intercontinental championship and Vickie Guerrero dumped him. He is still working on Smackdown.
