Wrestling Biography

WWE superstar Edge is known as Adam Copeland when he’s not in the ring.  Born on October 30, 1973, in Ontario, Edge is a member of the WWE and appears on Smackdown.  He has held a record 12 tag team championship titles, been the WWE champion three times, the World Heavyweight champion three times, and is the only wrestler to ever win all six of the Smackdown and Raw titles.

Edge began wrestling at a young age on the independent wrestling circuit in Ontario.  In 1998, after making several impressive showings, the WWE offered Edge a contract.  He first debuted on Raw on June 22 as a solo wrestler, and he won his first title, the Intercontinental Title, in July of 1999.

Christian was introduced as Edge’s brother in 1998, and the two formed a tag team shortly thereafter.  Edge and Christian first won the title at WrestleMania 2000 after defeating both the Hardy’s and the Dudley Boyz in a ladder match.  In 2001, Edge and Christian had a falling out over Edge’s solo success, and Edge began wrestling on his own.

He was later moved to Smackdown and began a feud against Kurt Angle.  In 2003, however, Edge suffered a neck injury and was out for nearly a year.  Just before his return, he broke his hand, leaving him out of the ring even longer.

Edge has won and lost the WWE Championship title several times, had an on-screen affair with Lita, and feuded with John Cena and DX.  In 2007, he returned to Smackdown and became the first wrestler to win three titles on both Raw and Smackdown.

Following his return, Edge and Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero began a relationship.  However, after losing to the Undertaker, Edge and Vickie had a falling out.  In July of 2008, Undertaker slammed Edge through the ring, and he was not seen again until November when he claimed the WWE Championship title for the third time. He went onto to lose the title the next month to Jeff Hardy but won it back the following month from Hardy. He once again lost the belt the next month in an Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out to Triple H. Later that same night, he was named a put into the Raw Chamber and won the World Title for the eighth time.

He lost the World Title to John Cena at Wrestlemania 25 and won it back a month later in a Last Man Standing Match...and proceeded to lose it two months later to Jeff Hardy in a ladder match. He won the Undisputed Tag Team titles with Chris Jericho but torn his Achilles tendon and has been out since July 2009.
