Jack Swagger

Wrestling Biography
Jacob Hager, who goes by the name Jack Swagger in the WWE, was born in December of 1982. This WWE superstar currently appears on ECW, and he has held the ECW title. Prior to joining ECW, Swagger trained at Florida Championship Wrestling and was the first wrestler to hold the FCW Florida Heavyweight title.
Before he became a professional wrestler, Swagger was signed as a football player and wrestler with the University of Oklahoma. There, he met Jim Ross, then-WWE head of talent relations. Ross convinced Swagger to call him after he graduated. Swagger would later go on set a single season record for most pins by pinning 30 different wrestlers. After graduating with his degree in finance, he contacted Ross and asked about working with the WWE.
Ross had him try out with Deep South Wrestling in 2006. He appeared in the ring in September and won his first dark match. For the next few months, he competed in dark matches, and then he was moved to Ohio Valley Wrestling in January. There, he feuded with K.C. James. He teamed up with a number of other wrestlers to feud with James and Cassiday.
In August of 2007, Swagger moved to Florida Championship Wrestling. There, he feuded with TJ Wilson. In February of 2008, he became the very first FCW Florida Heavyweight Champion after beating Ted DiBiase. Swagger and DiBiase earned their spots in the title match by becoming the last two men standing in a 23-person battle royal.
In March of 2008, Swagger faced FCW Southern Heavyweight title holder Heath Miller. Their match was slated to determine the true Heavyweight Champion in the FCW. Both titles were up for grabs, and Swagger claimed them both after defeating Miller.
In September of 2008, Swagger debuted on the ECW. He became a heel character and feuded with Tommy Dreamer. He defeated Dreamer a few times, including winning the Extreme Rules match that ended their feud. Swagger then began a feud with Matt Hardy in an attempt to win Hardy’s ECW Championship belt. In January of 2009, he won the title from Hardy. He defended the title from Hardy, Finlay, and Christian, although he would later lose the belt to Christian at Backlash.
Swagger was traded to RAW in the summer of 2009 and immediately began an feud with MVP. After the feud with MVP, he began to go for the United States championship. His attempts so far have fell short to win the title.
