Wrestling Biography
Primo, born as Edwin Colon in December of 1982, is a WWE superstar who currently appears on Smackdown. The son of Carlos Colon, Sr., Primo grew up in a wrestling family. His siblings Stacy and Carly are both professional wrestlers, and he and Carlito often work as a tag team.
Primo first began wrestling with the World Wresting Council as a cruiserweight in 1999. Two years later, he won the WWC World Junior Heavyweight title, feuding with and passing the title back and forth with Damian Steele. In 2002, he began feuding with Rey Mysterio, Jr., his last cruiserweight feud. Primo moved into the heavyweight division. He would challenge El Diamante for the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight title, and in 2004, he claimed the Universal Heavyweight belt, although he later lost the title to El Diamante.
In 2006, Primo was offered a developmental contract by the WWE, and he began training with Florida Championship Wrestling. There, he joined with Eric Perez in a tag team called the Puerto Rican Nightmares. They held the FCW tag titles for a time.
In August of 2008, Primo made his debut on Raw in a behind the scenes clip. His in-ring debut came the next week. However, after appearing this one time on Raw, Primo moved to Smackdown and formed a tag team with Carlito. Together, the two won the WWE tag title. They begana feud with John Morrison and The Miz and both teams had a match to unifiy the Tag titles which Primo and Carlito won. They ended up losing the titiles to the team of Chris Jericho and Edge. They invoked their rematch clause and lost that match. Afterwards, Carlito attacked Primo and defeated him in a singles match breaking up their tag team.
Primo is currently still on Raw.
