Mr. Vince McMahon

Wrestling Biography
Currently, McMahon appears mostly on Smackdown, but he has appeared and participated in storylines on RAW and ECW. He has held the WWE Championship, the ECW Championship and even won the 1999 Royal Rumble during the course of his career.
McMahon’s father, Vince McMahon, Sr., was involved in the wrestling world, and after graduating college, McMahon joined his father’s World Wide Wrestling Federation. He served as announcer and commentator for many of these matches, and eventually he took over the company after his father retired. McMahon created Titan Sports, Inc, and purchased Capitol Wrestling, his father’s company, and took control of the WWE (then the WWF) with his wife, Linda.
In the early 80s, McMahon began doing the unthinkable - creating a national wrestling promotion. He split from the National Wrestling Alliance and actively recruited wrestlers away from their promotions. This allowed him to create a huge wrestling promotion that made headlines and gained massive television ratings. His storylines featured spectacular feuds and alliances, and his idea of pay per view events was, at the time, unheard of. By the late 80s, broadcasts of WWE events were outranking every show they went up against. In the 1990s, McMahon continued to remake wrestling by purchasing WCW in 2001 and in 2003, he bought ECW.
In the ring, McMahon has feuded with many different wrestlers. McMahon’s character in the ring is usually that of a very smug heel who knows he has the power to control events. He has been involved in a number of storylines, often with his son Shane and his daughter Stephanie. One of the most famous involves his “death” in 2007, a storyline that was dropped after the tragedies involving Chris Benoit. Since then, McMahon has been involved in a few storylines here and there but has focused more on the business side of the WWE.
