Maryse

Wrestling Biography
Maryse Ouellet is a French Canadian professional wrestler and model who is currently working as a WWE superstar on Smackdown. However, Maryse didn’t always want to be a wrestler; in fact, she began her career as a beauty pageant contestant and model. It wasn’t until she joined the WWE Diva Search in 2006 that she got into the world of professional wresting. When she was the second of eight divas to be eliminated, she was invited to the Ohio Valley Wrestling development camp. She was later offered a developmental contract.
Maryse began outside the ring as a character in several backstage segments. She also served as a manager for Rene Dupree in house shows. She even appeared on Smackdown a few times as an interviewer and commentator. Finally, in December of 2006, she made her in-ring debut in a house show. She continued doing house shows until March of 2007, when she became a part-time interviewer.
In May of 2007, she made her first appearance on Raw introducing a music video. She later became a solo heel on Smackdown, and in March of 2008, she entered the diva swimsuit contest. She was the first diva to be eliminated.
In May of 2008, Maryse would make her in-ring debut on Smackdown, but she would lose that match. She also lost her chance to snag the WWE Diva title at Unforgiven 2008. However, she would win the title in December of 2008 by defeating former teammate Michelle McCool. A few days later, she dislocated her knee in a tag match and was out for a short amount of time. She retained her title during her injury.
She returned to the ring in the Miss Wrestlemania Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 25. She was drafted to RAW in April 2009 and ended up losing the Divas title to Mickie James. She recently took a hiatus to get knee surgery.
