Wrestling Biography

Mark Jerrold Henry was born in 1971 and made his official debut into the world of pro wrestling in 1996 after being in the Olympics twice.  On his second round in the Olympics, Mark Henry was sponsored by the WWE in the 1996 events where he competed in the Weightlifting Competition.

After this he went into the world of pro wrestling by going up against one of the WWE superstars at the time, Jerry Lawler.  He entered the WWE world because of the way that Lawler was disrespecting wrestler Jake Roberts.  Even though Lawler was the more experienced wrestler, Mark Henry proved to be too much for him, and he defeated Lawler in the September 1996 match quite easily.

This victory immediately put him in the WWE spotlight, and two years later he joined a mega WWE superstar, The Rock, in the Nation of Domination faction.  This partnership eventually disbanded, but Mark Henry went on to work in a tag team with D’Lo Brown; however, in the end Mark Henry turned on Brown and helped Jarrett win the WWF European Championship in 1998.  In return Jarrett handed over this title to Henry the following night. Henry lost the title to Brown the following month.

Henry became a fan favorite as "Sexual Chocolate". He romanced many different women during time such as Chyna and Mae Young. He feued with Viscera after Viscera splashed Mae Young while Young was carrying the child of Mark Henry. Young would end giving birth to a hand and Henry would be put in embrassing storylines including an admission of being an sex addict.

Later the Sexual Chocolate gimmick, Henry would go to Smackdown and face various superstars such as Chris Jericho and Christian. He tore his quad miscle and was out for a year before returning and receiving a World Heavyweight Championship shot against Kurt Angle at the 2006 Royal Rumble and losing the match. Hnery was receving a major push until he tore his patella tendon and was out of action until mid 2007.

Mark Henry wrestled in the WWE during the last twelve years and was traded to the ECW side of the equation.  In his first match with that group Mark Henry went on to defeat both Kane and the Big Show in order to gain the ECW Championship title.  This marked his continued rise as a valued WWE superstar, although it has been on a new and different stage. He lost the title to to Matt Hardy and spent the rest of 2008 chasing the title but never regain it. He was traded to Raw and on his first night defeated Randy Orton and became a fan favorite. He is now Raw as part of a tag team with MVP.
