Wrestling Biography

Lilian Garcia, born August 19, 1973, was the lead ring announcer for the WWE Raw brand.  As such, she announced which WWE superstars will be involved in each match and made other special announcements as well.  In addition to her WWE work, Garcia is also a singer.

Garcia spent much of her young life in Spain while her father was in the military. After moving to the US, she spent some time competing in beauty pageants and made it to the top ten in the Miss South Carolina pageant one year.  She also worked on a morning radio show.

She began singing at a young age, and she sung in a number of contests.  She performed at NBA games, the1996 Summer Olympics, and more.  Her first single was released in 2002.  That year, Garcia also recorded “Need A Little Time,” Torrie Wilson’s theme song.  She has also sang “America the Beautiful” at several WrestleMania events.

Garcia began working as a ring announcer for the WWE in 1999, making her debut on Raw.  She became involved in her first storyline in September after angering Jeff Jarrett.  Since then, she has been involved in a number of plots.  Garcia sang on Raw for the first time in February of 2000, and she later opened the 2000 WrestleMania.

In 2002, Garcia and announcer Howard Finkel began a short feud that Garcia ended up winning in a special match.  She would mostly perform her announcing duties for several years until 2005, when she and Viscera began an on-screen romance.  They were scheduled to marry at Vengeance 2005, but Viscera ended up breaking it off.  The romance was briefly rekindled in 2006, but it again ended with the two splitting.

In April of 2006, Garcia became the first woman to announce at WrestleMania (not counting the special announcing done by Gennifer Flowers at WresleMania XIV).  Since then, she has continued to announce for Raw, although she did take some time off to recover form a skiing accident.

In September 2009, Garcia ended her run as ring announcer after 10 years with the company. She is now focusing on her singing career.
