William Regal

Wrestling Biography
Regal began using the name Lord Steven Regal on WCW in 1993. He teamed up with Jean-Paul Levesque (better known as Triple H), and then made an alliance with Bobby Eaton after Levesque left. Regal also battled for the WCW TV title with Lex Luger and others, winning it four different times. However, he was fired from the WCW in 1998 due to drug use. That same year, the WWE signed him, and he appeared under the name William Regal for the first time.
Regal again suffered a drug use relapse, and the WWE released him from his contract. He was rehired by WCW for a few months, but budget cuts saw him released from the company again. The WWE then offered him a second chance. He wrested at a developmental promotion until 2000. In 2001, he served a stint as the WWE Commissioner. This was during the WWE vs. WCW/ECW storyline and he was amjor part of the storyline as bothe comissioner of WWE and the Alliance. After the WWE defeated the Alliance, Regal was forced to become the first member of the Mr. McMahon "Kiss My Ass Club" to keep his job.
In 2002, he won the Intercontinental title from Edge and held for two monts before losing to Rob Van Dam at Wrestlemania 18. He proceeded to win the European title a couple of times. Regal also joined the Un-americans stable, a group that included Lance Storm. Storm and Regal formed a tag team and held the Tag Titles for several months.
Regal would suffer a major heart problem in 2003, forcing him to take most of the year off. In 2004, he reappeared as a manager, and he re-entered the ring later that year. He claimed the tag titles with both Eugene and Tajiri, and in 2007, he was appointed Raw’s General Manager.
Despite his health problems, Regal has proven he still has what it takes. In 2008, he won the King of the Ring, but shortly thereafter, he was suspended for 60 days for violating the Wellness Policy. He returned and won the Intercontinental Championship from Santino Marella but lost it to CM Punk after a three month reign. He was traded to the ECW brand in June 2009 and began his quest to win the ECW Championship from Christian. While going after Christian and his title, he formed a stable many called "The Ruthless Roundtable" with Vladmir Kozlov and Ezekial Jackson. His last championship opportunity was in his home country of England where he failed to win the ECW Championship from Christian.
