Robert Roode


Wrestling Biography
Robert Roode is a Candian wrestler that was born in 1977 and started his career in Petersbough, Ontario with Val Venis and Shane Sewell and made his pro debut after a year of training. He wrestled in numerous Canadian independent promotions and in Puerto Rico. He is a former Border City Wrestling Can-Am Heavyweight Champion and also won numerous title on the independent scene. He made his TNA in May 2004 as part of Team Canada.
Roode competed in World X Cup which was won by Team Canada. A feud started with Team Canada and 3 Live Kru and it was around this time when was being called "The Canadian Enforcer". During his time with Team Canada, he won the NWA Tag Team Championship with Eric Young and feuded with names such as Dustin Rhodes and Ron "The Truth" Killings until Team Canada was forced to break up in July 2006 which sent Roode on his way to a singles career.
He began being managed by Traci Brooks and his first singles feud was with former Team Canada teammate Eric Young, who Roode was angry that the crowd was cheering for Young and not Roode. Young was forced into signing with Roode and Roode owned Young's contact and forced to help him win matches and cheat until Young started fighting back upon the advice of a "mysetery friend" who turned out to be Jeff Jarrett. Young ended up getting out of his contract with Roode and Roode aligned himself with the Christian Coalition.
After feuding with Kaz over Roode's treatment of Ms. Brooks, Roode joined forces again with Christian Cage and Kurt Angle but this union only lasted on night as Angle and Roode turned on Cage. Once Booker T came to TNA, Roode started a feud with him and called him a "has been". This feud got even personal when Roode hit Booker's wife Sharmell in the face. Brooks stopped managaing Roode and Peyton Banks took her place in the with Booker and Sharmell which Booker came out on top in after a series of matches. Banks was no longer with Roode right after the feud.
In June 2008, Roode teamed with James Storm to challenge the Latin American Exchange for the TNA Tag Team Championsip. Roode and Stormwon the match but it was overturned and LAX won the restarted match. Beer Money, what Roode and Storm starting calleing themselves, finally beat LAX to win the TNA Tag Team titles and defended the belts sucessfully until in January 2009 when they lost to Jay Lethal and Conseqences Creed. They won the titles right back three days later. They lost the belts to Team 3D at Lockdown in Philadelphia Street Fight and turned face after helping Team 3D in an attack from The British Invasion.
Beer Money defeated The British Invasion in the finals of the Team 3D Invitaional Tournamant and faced and defeated Team 3D for the TNA Tag Team belts for the third time. They ended up losing the titiles to Scott Steiner and Booker T a motnh later After this, four teams including feuded with each other for months resulting in a Full Metal Mayhem match in which Beer Money was not sucessful. They ran out of Tag Team title opportunies against TNA Tag champs The British Invasion and have not won back the titles. At the Genesis PPV in January 2010, they defeated the team of Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman.
