Wrestling Biography

"The Blueprint" Matt Morgan is a former WWE superstar who is currently in Total Nonstop Action wrestling. Morgan first foray into pro wrestling was when he tried out for Tough Enought II but left early due to injury. In 2002, he was signed to a developmental deal with the WWE and went to Ohio Valley Wrestling. He was there for a year before being called up the Smackdown brand in October 2003 and was placed on Team Lesnar for a 10-man Elimination Tag match at Surivor Series where he was eliminated by Kurt Angle. He hung around until after Wrestlemania 20 where he was sent down to OVW for more seasoning.

 

While OVW, he was two time OVW Heavyweight Champion with his first reign lasting over six months. In April 2005, returned to WWE TV as a stuttering big man who was defensive about his speech disorder. He allied his with Carlito as his "bodyguard". After Carlito was drafted to Raw, Morgan was released in July 2005. He toured Japan for almost two years with New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling. He also worked in Italy and Austria.

 

In 2007, Morgan debuted in TNA Wrestling as TNA Managment director Jim Cornette's "backup". After a few months, Morgan began to wrestle and his first match in TNA was at the Lethal Lockdown on Team Christian Cage. He developed the nickname "The Blueprint" and was in a few minor feuds. He began to tag with Abyss in 2008 but they unsucessful in their atempts to win the TNA Tag Team titles. Morgan blamed this on Abyss's lack of focus and turned on Abyss. This feud resulted in some of the most violent matches in TNA including the Match of 10,00 Tacks, and the Doomsday Chamber of Blood match. Matt won both matches. 

 

Matt did turned his attention to tyring to join the Main Event Mafia, a group put together by Kurt Angle of former world champions. He faced Sting for entry to the group but lost the match at Slammiversary. After turning on Angle and going out for himself, he became a face and he faced Angle in match at Bound for Glory in 2009 in which Morgan lost but showed that he could hang with Angle. He has recently signed a 5 year deal with TNA.
