Madison Rayne, born Ashley Lane, got her start in Ohio Championship Wrestling and became the first ever OCW Women's Championship in a one night tournament in March 2007. She lost it to Neavah but won it back and lost it back to Sara Del Rey. She started appearing in Shimmer and even appeared in Ring of Honor during her time in Shimmer. She won the Tag Team Championship with Neavah in 2008.

Rayne appeared in TNA in January 2009 where she was beat by Awesome Kong. She returned in a TNA Knockouts Gautlet match but lost to Sojo Bolt in the finals. After walking out on her partner Taylor Wilde, she joined The Beautiful People. She lost her initiation match to Wilde but was still let in the group. She was assulted by Angelina Love and Velvet Sky after she accidentally cost Love the Knockouts title to ODB. She was kicked out the group but later helped Love and Sky advance to the finals of the Knockouts Tag Team Ttile Tounament and welcomed back.

After Love was released from her contract, Rayne and Sky was joined by Lacey Von Erich. Rayne even picked up her first victory in TNA after winning a eight-person elimination match. Love returned to the company in January 2010 and attacked the group.
