Wrestling Biography

James Allan Black was born in Tennessee in 1977 and is better known as James Storm. Storm was a standout amateur wrester and won a state title in high school. He began training for professional with Slash in 1995 after losing a basketball scholarship at Austin Peay State University. He broke his shoulder and dropped out of Slash's school but joined up with Shane Morton after his shoulder healed. He began on the independent tour in the Southeast before being signed by WCW in 2000 and appeared on WCW Television. After WCW was purchased by WWE in 2001, he went back to the independent ciruit.

 

Storm wrestled his future tag team partner Chris Harris in June 2002 and both were signed to TNA. They were expected to be singels wrestlers but were put together as a team and was named America's Most Wanted. During the time together, they were six time NWA Tag Team champions feuded with teams such as Triple X, The Naturals, Team Canada, and LAX. Their most memorabloe match was with Triple X members Elix Skipper and Christopher Daniels in a Six Sides of Steel match at Turning Point. This match featured Skipper walking across the top of the cgae to deleiver a hurricarana Chris Harris off the top of the cage. AMW won that match and Triple X had to disband.

 

In late 2005, AMW turned heel and helped Jeff Jarrett in the NWA Heavyweight title and joined Jarrett's Army and Gail Kim began to be their manager. In December 2006, the team would end after Storm hit Harris with a beer bottle during a match that AMW had to win to remain a team. Storm and Harris feuded which resulted in some of the best matches in TNA history including a Texas Death Match, that Harris won. Storm was gaining a reputation as a heel wrestler and feuded with Eric Young and Rhino and lost to Rhino in a Elevation X match.

 

Storm joined forces with Robet Roode in June 2008 to challenege LAX for the TNA Tag Team championship but unsucessful. They received a rematch after a beatdown of LAX. Known as Beer Money by this point, they defeated LAX for the TNA Tag titles and defendied the title for a couple of months before losing to Lethal Consequences by reganed the titles right back a few days later. They lost the titles to Team 3D in a Philadelphia Street Fight at Lockdown 2009. Beer Money turned face and beat Team 3D for the TNA Tag titles before losing them to Booker T and Scott Steiner the following month. They have not been able to regain the titles since losing to Booker and Steiner and have run out of opportunies against the current TNA Tag Team champions The British Invasion.
