D'Angelo Dinero

Wrestling Biography
"The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero is a former WWE superstar who goes by the name of Elijah Burke outside of the ring. He was a Jacksonville, Florida police officer who had an outstanding amateur boxing career. He was signed to a deal with the WWE in 2004 and started out in Ohio Valley Wrestling. He won the OVW Heavyweight Championship and held it for five months before losing it to Matt Morgan. WWE creative offered Burke a spot in The Spirit Squad and a send up to WWE TV but he turned it down and stayed in OVW for a little more seasoning.
Burke debuted on Smackdown in July 2006 with Sylvester Turkay in the role of Turkay's cornerman but he did get in the ring to wrestle a few matches before the duo was moved to the ECW brand. When Turkay was released from his contract, Burke became a singles wrestler and was a focal point of the storyline between "The New Breed" team against the "ECW Orginals" team. Newer stars like Burke took on ECW guys like Rob Van Dam and Sabu in a series of matches which culminated with an Extreme Rules match at WrestleMania 23.
After the WrestleMania match, the New Breed slowly began to break up and Burke competed for the ECW Championship but to no avail. Burke was seen off television for weeks but reappeared at the 2008 Royal Rumble and at the 24 man Battle Royal at WrestleMania 24 but continued to be used on and off. He was released in November 2008. He appeared at a couple of independent shows after his release.
After having a tryout match for TNA Wrestling in May 2009, Burke was signed to a contract and debuted as "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero, a street preacher from Harlem, New York. He made his official debut in August in the Steel Asylum match. He started a feud with Suicide which resulted in numerous matches, including a Falls Count Anywhere match which Dinero won. After Suicide, Dinero joined forces with Matt Morgan, Hernandez, and Suicide to take on Team 3D, Rhino, and Jesse Neal.
