Wrestling Biography

Colt Cabana, born Scott Colton in Illnois in 1980, was trained by Chris Guy and joined Ring of Honor going against CM Punk until joining Punk's group and winning the ROH Tag Team titles with Punk. Punk went after the ROH World Title and Cabana feuded with the likes of Austin Aries and Nigel McGuiness. Cabana fought Punk in his last match before going to the WWE in a two out of three falls match and then got into a program with Homicide during 2005 and 2006 which saw Cabana get beat up on a weekly basis until he finally defeated Homicide in a Chicago Street Fight. He challenegd Bryan Danielson for Danielson's ROH World Championship but came up short on three occasions. He also wrestled in the short lived Wrestling Society X on MTV as Matt Classic.

 

Cabana recieved a developmental contract with the WWE in April 2007 and went to Ohio Valley Wrestling where he was the OVW Television Champion. He moved down to Florida Championship Wrestling and made his WWE TV debut on the August 15, 2008 editiion of Smackdown as Scotty Goldman losing to Brian Kendrick. He disappeared from televsion and made an appearancee after a five months absence to lose in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. He was released from his contract in Feburary 2009.

 

He returned to the independent scene but more importantly, returned to Ring of Honor in a tag match with Bryan Danielson. He challenged Jerry Lynn for the ROH World Title but came up short in his attempt.
