Christopher Daniels

Wrestling Biography
Christopher Daniels, born Daniel Covell, began his professional wrestling career in Windy City Pro Wrestling in Chicago in the early 1990's. In 2000, he was in the WWE for a quick cup of coffee and challenged Taka Michinou for the Light Heavyweight title. He also wrestled in XPW and ECW. Right before the purchase of WCW by the WWE, he wrestled in a match for WCW and received a contract to wrestle for them but they went out of business and never fulfilled his contract. He then went back to the independent circuit and Japan.
Daniels began in Ring of Honor and made an immediate impact in the beginning of ROH by not abiding by the rule of shaking hands with opponents. He challenged for the ROH World Title in a Ironman Four Way match but came up short. He would go on to create the stable The Prophecy and also win the ROH Tag Team title. During his time with ROH, he was wrestling for TNA and performed in both promotions. Daniels would go on to win the Tag Team titles once again, this time with Matt Sydal.
Daniels' time in TNA started in 2002 when he formed Triple X with Elix Skipper and Low-Ki. The stable won the NWA Tag Team titles. After disbanding Triple X, Daniels had a quick feud with Jeff Jarrett but regrouped Triple X not long after. They once again disbanded when they lost to America's Most Wanted in a Six Sides of Steel match. Daniels focused on singles wrestling as he and AJ Styles were engaged in a feud over the X Division title. Daniels won an Ultimate X match to win the X Division Championship and held it for 150 days, a record for the title. He lost the title to AJ Styles after he won a three-way match with himself, Styles, and Samoa Joe, a match many call the best in the history of TNA.
Daniels went on to feud with Styles and Joe Moe over the next few months and won the X Division belt from Samoa Joe in an Ultimate X match. but lost it back to Joe a few weeks later. Later, Daniels teamed with archenemy AJ Styles and defeated America's Most Wanted for the NWA Tag Team titles. They went on to feud LAX, trading the belt back and forth until LAX finally won belts for good. Daniels won his third X Division titles on the debut on Impact on Spike TV. Daniels took some time off but returned and feuded with names such as Sting and Rhino but was fired after being on the short end of a Feast or Fired briefcase.
Daniels returned as Curry Man and played the character for a few months. He then played Suicide while Frankie Kazarian reovered from injury. Daniels returned as himself in April 2009 as a member of Team Jarrett for a Lethal Lockdown match. He feuded mainly within the X Division and started a feud with AJ Styles for Styles' TNA World Title. Daniels came up short in a three-way with Styles and Samoa Joe.
