Wrestling Biography

Devon E. Hughes is better known has Brother Devon, one half of the tag team Team 3D. He started his career by being trained by Johnny Rodz and made his debut as A-Train in Northeastern independent promtions. In April 1996, D-Von Dudley debuted in the company as Buh Buh Ray Dudley's half brother with a character inspired by Samuel L. Jackson's character in Pulp Fiction. After a series of matches between D-Von and and Buh Buh, they joined forces and turned heel. They dominated the ECE Tag Team scene winning the ECW Tag Team Championship eight times and defeating every major tag team in the promotion. After a pay dispute, they ECW in 1999 and went to the WWE.

 

Buh Buh changed the his name to Bubba and They Dudleys particpated in the first Table, Ladders, and Chairs matches in WWE aginst Edge and Christian and The Hardy Boyz. They started out as heels but turned into good guy wrestlers and Bubba even received a WWE Title match against Kurt Angle on Smackdown which Angle won. They joined The Alliance during the Invasion angle and they won the WWE Tag Team Championship. After the Invasion angle, they had unified the WCW Tag Team titles and the WWE Tag Team titles. After Wrestlemania 18, the roster was split into two and The Dudley Boyz was split apart. Bubba was on Raw and won the WWE Hardcore title and teamed with Spike Dudley. D'Von had a hard time with his new gimmick as Reverend D'Von on Smackdown and rejoined Bubba and Spike on Raw in September 2002.

 

They held the WWE World Tag Team titles several more times before being drafted over to Smackdown where they feuded with The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, and Rob Van Dam. They would win the WWE Tag Team Championship one more time before being put on hiatus. They returned at ECW One Night Stand to defeat The Sandman and Tommy Dreaer but their time in the WWE was done as they were released in Jully 2005. They were unable to use The Dudley name due to the WWE owning the names and trademarks so when The Dudleys debuted in TNA Wrestling, they were renamed Brother Ray and Brother Devon.

 

They immediatly began to feud with Team Canada and America's Most Wanted upon their debut in the company and they did not win the NWA Tag Team Championship until they defeated LAX in an Electrified Steel Cage match at Lockdown 2006. They lost the titles (which were TNA Tag Team titles due to TNA not working with the NWA anymore) to Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe months later. They began to target the X-Divsion and the Motor City Machineguns. After this, they sided with Kurt Angle during his feud against AJ Styles and feuded with Christian Cage and Rhino. They were involved in a Monster's Ball Match at Bound for Glory 2008 but came up shirt in this match also.

 

Team 3D joined The Frontline during their fight against the Main Event Mafia and at Lockdown 2009, they won the TNA Tag Team titles and retained their IWGP Tag Team Championship against Beer Money. They lost both titles within a couple of months but regainedthe IWGP titles in a Full Metal Mayhem Tag match. They turned heel and aligned themselves with Rhino and Jesse Neal against the younger wrestlers in TNA but lost a eight man elimination tag match to Mat Morgan, Hernandez, D'Angelo Dinero, and Suicide at Final Resolution. In January 2010, they lost the IWGP Tag titles to Tetsuya Naito and Yujiro and upon their return to TNA, started a feud with The Nasty Boys.
