Wrestling Biography

Kia Stevens is a female professional wrestler better known as Awesome Kong. She started her foray into wrestling at the School of Hard Knocks in California and was in her first pro match after only 11 workouts at Empire Wrestling Federation. She stayed there until she moved to All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling where she debuted as Amazing Kong. She toured Japan in various women's promotions and held their biggest honor - the WWWA World Heavyweight Championship.

After winning the AWA Superstars of Wrestling World Women's Champion, Kong defeated MsChif in May 2007 to win the NWA World Women's Championship, making her the second wrestler to hold both NWA and AWA titles at the same time. After losing the title back to MsChif, she went overseas and also wrestled in SHIMMER. She made her TNA debut in 2007 under the name Awesome Kong and was dominant in the beginning, having only lost a Knockouts title match against Gail Kim by DQ. After another loss to Kim, Kong beat Kim to win the TNA Knockouts Championship.

Kong ran through the Knockout division, beating all her opponents in dominating fashion. She began to challenge any female to beat her with the prize being $25,000 and the Knockouts title. Taylor Wilde, on her third shot, got the win and became the new Knockout champion in July 2008. Kong fought back to re-take the title in October. After successful defenses against Christy Hemme and ODB, Kong gained a stable when the Kongtourage was formed with Raisha Saeed, Rhanka Khan, and Sojo Bolt.

Kong finally lost the title to Angelina Love in a three-way match, and lost her rematch after Saeed messed up. She cut ties with Saeed and turned to new Knockout Tara, who defeated Kong in a Six Sides of Steel match after weeks of problems between the two.
